In the updates I published recently on the blog I indicated that we had shown improvement on our fuel budget. This months numbers are in and the fuel budget has again gone up instead of going down. Because of this increase, the department has no choice but to be under complete fuel restriction. This means there will be no use of emergency vehicles other than emergency calls and department directed activities until further notice. Please bring your items to work with you for cooking meals. I apologize to everyone for this inconvenience but we will be very strict in monitoring and addressing any use other than what is permitted. We do have GPS tracking capabilities in select vehicles that are and will continue to be moved to different vehicles without notice to assure that we are taking every measure possible to control the budget and save tax payer money. Thank you very much for your cooperation and please help me to help our department not have to see layoffs or hours cut of personnel.
