Fire Rescue Shift Lieutenant
Number of positions: 6
The shift lieutenant spots are available for promotion of personnel who meet minimum qualifications for this position. The duties of this position will be acting officer in charge in absence of captain, scene/suppression supervision and command, personnel management, facility/apparatus management, and scheduling. The lieutenants will be under command of the shift captain.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Full time fire/rescue employee
-Minimum 5 years career fire/ems experience with at least 1 year being with Gilmer County Fire/Rescue
-State of Georgia Certified Firefighter
-Minimum of Georgia Certified EMT-I
Required Qualifications within 1 year of promotion:
NPQ Firefighter 1
Leadership I, II, III
Building Construction- Combustible and Non Combustible
Acting Officer in Charge for the Fire Service
NIMS 100,200,700,800,300,400
Personnel shall submit in writing to Peggy Pettit, their request to be considered for placement in the testing process for this position. Personnel shall also supply certificates/proof of minimum qualifications.
The deadline for personnel to submit paperwork for this position will be Monday January 25, 2009 no later than 3 p.m. Paperwork must be stamped and marked with time received, to be officially accepted. Testing dates and further information will be advised, after the application process is completed.
