Leaving The Station

All personnel are to strictly adhere to the one trip out, per day, per station policy. If you go out on a call personnel will do there needed erronds on their way back from the call, which will eliminate the need for leaving the station any further during the shift. Personnel shall either bring your meals with you to work to cook, or pick up needed items during your one trip out. If personnel choose to dine out for their one trip out, it should be as quick and as close as possible to your assigned response territory. It is not necessary for outlying stations to come to sta. 1 to retrieve needed general supplies. It is as simple as calling the shift officer and making a request so that appropriate personnel can bring the supplies to your station. EMS units who are in need of supply restock after a call and that do not have needed supplies at their station may come to sta.1 to replenish, but should return to territory asap. The reason for the seriousness in this matter is due to the fact that the departments fuel bill for only 21 days this month is over $4400.00 dollars which is much higher than it should be. After reviewing the fuel detail, call volume, and types of apparatus using fuel; it is evident that much of the use is due to apparatus making unnecessary trips. Please help bring this under control and understand from this point on that all use, mileage, and vehicles seen out of the station will be closely monitored and questioned. All of our manned stations have fully equipped, fully functional, cooking and dining areas and should be used. All trucks will radio in and out of the station everytime you leave or return. Thank you for your hard work and cooperation and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone.
