The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, has issued a winter storm watch for our county for friday and saturday that will most likely develop into an advisory or warning after midnight tonight. All personnel shall be sure all equipment is ready for use (especially tire chains and chainsaws). The 4 pm EMA Director briefing from the NWS says there is potential of over 3/4 inch of ice accumulations, with an additional 1 inch of snow on top of ice. We do expect large numbers of trees down and power outages if this accumulation does in fact occur. It is everyones job to be your own safety officer, while also watching others around you in all situations. We all know how dangerous it is to be out in these conditions so BE CAREFUL!! I will try to update everyone as more detailed and accurate information comes available.
