I try not to overload the blog with useless information, but I do like to try and update everyone on pertinent information. Our largest ongoing project is still preparation for ISO inspection. The month of april should bring an end to ISO concerns, as the inspection will be completed. Our largest project to be completed immediately is a burn building. We are in the approval process now, and should see results with the next 2 weeks. If we are able to get approval, our department will be able to offer training and certifications that we havent had the opportunity to do in the past which will be very beneficial. General fund budget continues to look very dim and threatening. Everyone should be doing their part to conserve money in every possible way. The only thing we havent cut yet is personnel and I want it to stay that way. Fuel use has shown some improvement and utility bills have recovered slightly as well. We are conducting the state test for basic firefighter for the new recruits on april 15 at 6 p.m. Hopefully they will all pass and we will have 13 new state certified firefighters. We ask that everyone please keep a positive attitude and continue to strive for excellence in our department. As always thank you for your continued hard work.
