I would like to commend everyone who participated in the fire on Yukon this week. Although we would have liked to have seen a different outcome, I am very proud of the bravery and determination shown by the individuals who participated in the suppression and attempted rescue. Our department can keep our heads held high, as our members abilities are that of true professionals that the citizens of this county can be proud of.

I would also like to say that some of the guys there are just out of recruit school and were faced with the impossible and never gave up and did a fantastic job. I am proud of what are department has become.
